Fun Times

Steven's older brother Ed and his wife Pat visited us, and we had a great time. We hadn't seen each other in 10 years! And Steve and Ed carved chickens from Costco - yum! We are so thankful to have been able to see them, and spend a lot of time together. And we also got to see Linda's daughter Melissa, which is always fun. Melissa is a blast! I am a VERY lame picture taker, and this is the ONLY picture I took to document our fun time together. Sorry!
Steven and Jacob made an incredible teepee out of bamboo poles from the field across the street, and the patchwork teepee cover was skillfully put together by them - I just supplied my handy dandy fabric box, which has been sitting, collecting fabric for about 20 years! The kids LOVE their teepee. Thanks Daddy and Jacob!

Carissa loves to play with her babies (stuffed animal pals) and sits in the plastic box and sings to them. She loves to sing, and its the cutest thing ever to listen to that low, raspy little voice!
We had the priviledge of visiting baby Gregory, Lily and Adam in the famous MV Hospital to celebrate Gregory's big day. The MV Hospital is famous because that's where 4 out of 5 Hurlbert kids were born!

It was so great of Lily and Adam to let all 7 of us invade their beautiful, private room there. Hurlberts love Egglestons, and are so happy about darling baby Gregory!

Jacob and Daddy are building an awesome bow (as in bow and arrow) out of wood. Those two are very creative and come up with some very cool things!

Rissa eats her dry cereal from a bowl every morning, with chocolate milk and a nanny (banana). Love that kid so much!

Shaney's a big 2nd grader now, and loves it and his nice new teacher. He's been missing some school lately because of mysterious painful tummy aches and some weight loss on his part. We have a doctor appt. scheduled to try to figure out what's going on. Then hopefully we'll get some smiles out of poor little Shaney!! Love that kid!

Our big kindergarten boy Samuel is so excited to be in school now. He's sporting his new backpack. He has afternoon kindergarten, which I really like. Love that kid!
And then Carissa and I have a precious 3 hours to spend together just the two of us, and then the picking up kids adventures start!
Sarah and Jacob are both busy, busy with the new school year. Jacob is a 7th grader at the middle school here, and loves his science and band classes best of all. He's also playing in the soccer league here. He's doing GREAT! And Sarah is a sophomore at the high school, is on the JV Girls Volleyball team, and is doing GREAT also. Love those kids!
